Walk in Closets – A fashion statement
Building a new home is exciting, and with most new homes including a master walk in closet, the walk in closet has fast become one of the areas clients give allot of attention and are not afraid to spend the money to make it a space not only where their clothing lives, but where the end consumer can add their layer of style and fashion.
Walk in closets can offer a space of tranquility but also a space that not only stores clothing but makes a statement in the home. Although walk in closets are generally allocated to the master suite, latest trends suggest that the other bedrooms also get treated to having a walk in closet, although smaller, very functional and efficient.
When designing your walk in closet, it would be a fatal mistake not to include drawers for underwear, socks, gym outfits, scarves and accessories. If the space allows for an island, this will create a space to store luxury jewellery, sunglasses, belts and watches. Another mistake would be to look at pictures of what you have in mind and then duplicate that as allot of pictures show walk in closets to be open and not have doors, keep in mind what your wardrobe has in it as allot of pictures show clothing in a monochromatic way and when having an open walk in closet, the space can quickly change from a beautiful space to a space that looks untidy and unforgiving.
