Kitchen islands/breakfast nooks have become the watering hole in most homes, the family-friendly 2023 trend is definitely the staple in most kitchens.
My father always insisted that we have one meal together as a family, I grew up with the phrase “A family that eats together stays together” times have changed and as my own children have grown, I find it difficult to schedule a time when everyone is home so we can have a meal together.Hence, the reason I love the family friendly design trend.
It means that while I am preparing a meal, my children can sit at the breakfast nook or kitchen island doing homework or just catching up with the day’s events. It also means that I get to hear the playground gossip 😊. The older children usually come in from a lecture, and they have the first opportunity to complain about the workload. Either way I love that I am part of this and that my kitchen has become the watering hole of my house.
